Welcome to BES
Dear Babylon Families,
We are very excited to welcome our students to Babylon Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year! As we open the year, we remain grounded in our core beliefs of being safe, respectful, and responsible, and we are proud to center our work around this year’s theme, “We the Kids – Leaders of Today & Tomorrow.”
This theme is inspired by our district’s message, “Rise, Lead, Inspire” and the patriotic book America Turns 250! A Celebration of History for Kids by Nora Campbell. As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, we are using this book to help students explore American history in an age-appropriate, engaging way. The book introduces young learners to important historical events, national symbols, and the values of citizenship, kindness, and unity while encouraging curiosity about our country's past and future. It provides an opportunity for students to reflect on what it means to be part of a community and how they can contribute positively to the world around them.
We are also proud to continue our strong partnership with our exceptional PTA, whose dedication and collaboration help bring our shared vision to life: for every student to believe, excel, and succeed. Together, our school and PTA create meaningful opportunities that strengthen family engagement, support student growth, and foster a vibrant school community. We are especially excited to share that Babylon Elementary School has been awarded the 2025-2027 National PTA School of Excellence designation, a prestigious recognition that celebrates our collective commitment to building strong family-school partnerships and ensuring every child feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to thrive. This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff, families, students, and PTA, and we look forward to continuing this important work together.
We encourage you to talk with your child about how he or she can be a helper, a friend, and a community builder. These small conversations at home help reinforce the values we’re nurturing in our classrooms.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a joyful and meaningful year ahead—because truly, we are stronger together.
With Babylon Panther Pride,
Thomas Keogh
