Babylon PTA Earns National Recognition

The Babylon Union Free School District is proud to announce that Babylon Elementary School and Babylon Memorial Grade School have been named 2025-2027 National PTA Schools of Excellence. This prestigious two-year designation recognizes the Babylon K-6 PTA’s commitment to building strong, collaborative family-school partnerships that drive student success.

The National PTA School of Excellence program is a rigorous, year-long process based on the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships. To earn this distinction, the schools and their PTAs completed a multi-step journey that included gathering community feedback, developing a data-driven action plan, and measuring the impact of their initiatives. The award celebrates the schools' leadership in creating welcoming and inclusive environments where families feel empowered to support student achievement.

Nationwide, only 330 schools received this designation for the 2025-2027 cycle. In New York State, just 32 schools were recognized, and on Long Island and in Suffolk County, Babylon Elementary and Babylon Memorial Grade School were among only 21 and 10 schools, respectively, to earn the honor.

"This recognition is a testament to the strength of our Babylon community," said Babylon K-6 PTA President Anca Radoi. "We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment where every family feels welcome, and our schools are just one place where that commitment comes to life. We are grateful for the hard work of our PTA and the robust partnerships we've built, and we encourage more community members to join us in supporting our students."

As Schools of Excellence, Babylon Elementary and Babylon Memorial Grade School will receive a banner and certificate to display their achievement, signifying to families that they are entering a community where partnerships are a top priority.
