The talented students of Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s BHS Theatre Club transported audiences to the vibrant world of Dr. Seuss with their production of Seussical the Musical, which ran on April 4, 5, and 6.
Under the direction of Ms. Rebecca Olivieri and produced by Mr. Eddie Storey, the cast brought famed characters to life with energy and creativity. Cassie Blayne charmed as the mischievous Cat in the Hat, while Brady Cunneen delivered a heartwarming performance as Horton the Elephant. Other standout performances included Jamisyn Cerny as the earnest Gertrude McFuzz, Allie Manetta as the glamorous Mayzie LaBird, and Madison DeSena as the curious Jojo.
The ensemble dazzled with vibrant choreography and harmonies, featuring Logan Snider as the sassy Sour Kangaroo, Annabel Lynn as the Young Kangaroo, Theo Hannon as General Schmitz, and Brandon Gorgone and Olivia Giaramita as Mr. and Mrs. Mayor. The ensemble Bird Girls, Wickersham Brothers, Citizens of the Jungle of Nool, and The Whos of Whoville added whimsical flair, while Lia Lewis played Vlad Vladikoff, and Ethan Vilmenay played The Grinch. Cara Manetta and Mary-Kate Probert were Thing 1 and Thing 2, and Avery Drago was Yertle the Turtle.
The show also included a special free preview performance for senior citizens which took place on April 3.
